Do Not Forget The Bank Job

In March of this year, I was treated to The Bank Job. Along with In Bruges and to a lesser extent with RockNRolla, thsi was a great year for crime films. The Bank Job is a wonderful film. Jason Statham was perfect in it!! One of my favorites of the year.

Alexandre Desplat's score for Birth is out of this world. I really need to get this. The opening scene's music is beautiful.  I need to give this film another chance.

Steven Soderbergh's Che

I just saw Steven Soderbergh on the Rachel Maddow Show talking about his epic biopic, Che. This looks very promising. I adore Steven Soderbergh and Benicio Del Toro was born to play Che Guevara.  Hell, I adore Rachel Maddow as well. Soderbergh is still fresh after all these years. 

In Bruges Is Getting Some Much Needed Love...

While I am disappointed, but not surprised that the Golden Globes did not give much recognition to The Dark Knight and Milk; I was happy to see In Bruges get some much deserved recognition. It is one of my favorite films of the year. I was very happy to see Mickey Rourke get nominated and James Franco as well.  Below is my review of In Bruges at Geeks Of Doom which I wrote earlier this year.  Glad to see Heath Ledger get nominated for his iconic performance as The Joker.

I hope Gran Torino is as good as everyone is saying. I adore Clint Eastwood. Glad to see that Danny Boyle is getting some kudos finally. Slumdog Millionaire is a good film. I am not sure if I think it is the best of the year, but it is worth it.
